Potato Wars

Once upon a time there was a happy potato called Jeremy who was half eaten. You might be wondering why he was half eaten, nobody knows – except Jeremy of course! It was night and he was sleeping in his cave, he was on the Island of Ireland when the Famine was happening. He was running away from people trying to eat him during the Famine when he found the cave. He was too scared to leave the cave but once he did he met his friend Sally the Sweet potato.

Sally was acting a bit strange. “Yesterday you trapped me in a glass jar!” said Jeremy. Sally was getting very jealous of Jeremy’s girlfriend and one day the ex-girlfriend disappeared. Then the next day Sally admitted she was an evil witch who could make food disappear into a boiling lake AKA a pot. Before she turned them into food she trapped them in the jars.

After living in the jar for a week, Jeremy finally managed to push the jar open...

A 100 Years Project workshop

It was evening time in Maggy Smith’s cottage. She couldn’t hear very well because of her old age. She used to run a bakery, but it burnt down in 1901. Maggy Moo’s Bakery was very popular and full of home baked goods. Her speciality were scones, soda bread and Victoria sandwich cakes. Children loved going after school to buy buns. They tried to get there quick before they sold out. The first two children to arrive got them for free! 

Horseriding

Jessica was sitting in her front garden when her best friend April came to visit. April said to Jessica “Do you want to go horse riding?”

They went to April’s house to get money for their horse riding lessons that were happening in Botanic Gardens. When they got there, there was a very pretty golden tabby cat. April said: “Look at that pretty little tabby cat, let’s take it home..”

“Hi, I’m Light Bulb Man and this is my sidekick Wire Snake. My goal is to light up the world and today we are going to try to complete that mission!”

Light Bulb man had met Wire Snake one day when he saw Wire Snake trying to convince people that he was a real snake, not just a wire. Wire Snake was hiding in a bush with his head poking out hissing at people. Light Bulb man saw Wire Snake and said “No offence, but you're not a snake, you're just a wire.” ...

Blaze and Kelly, the Super Sweets

Once upon a time, there was a gummy bear superhero called Blaze who had superpowers and wanted to save the world from a giant bowling ball that was going to crush everyone.

Blaze could not do this alone so he got his best friend Kelly to help him. Then Blaze heard a noise. It was a rumbling sound of a bowling ball. Him and Kelly started running as fast as they could to get away from the bowling ball...

Another day of making coffee. The bell over the door rings and one of Sally’s regular customers come in.

“Just the usual” said Owen, who works at the veterinary practice down the street.

“Two years and you’re still ordering the same coffee I don’t know how you don’t get sick of it” said Sally.

“It gives me energy, gets me through the day” says Owen. “Speaking of my day, how’s your day been?”

“Pretty stressful” Sally replies. Suddenly, a rattling roar sound comes from below. Sally misses the coffee cup and spills coffee everywhere. She stops for a brief moment and they both stare at each other. Sally asks Owen “Did you hear that?”

“Yeah” Owen replies nervously, “What was that?”...

 

The Search for the Centaur

John the dragon lifted a book about centaurs from his extensive library. He was one thousand years old and knew everything from the books but he had always dreamt of finding a centaur. There were loads of sightings of centaurs over the years so John wanted to research to find out more. He opened the book to the first page but then one of his dragon friends came in to see him. 

“What are you reading?” said Levi as he squeezed through the door, his broad shoulders hitting against the door frame.

John said, “I’m reading a book about centaurs. I’d love to find one.” 

Levi said to John, “I can give you some information on where to find one, but it will come at a price..."

“This is so stupid. Why would they run into a haunted house?,” said Kris, stuffing a handful of sweet and salty popcorn into her mouth and staring avidly at the screen.

“This is garbage,” agreed John. “When did it come out?”

“1978,” said Kris. “Three years ago. Why would they follow a scream in the house?”
