Towering Tales Creative Writing Competition

Have you a passion for writing? Ever dreamed of getting your stories recognised?

 It is time to unleash your creative writing skills, put pen to paper or get tapping on those keyboards and get involved in an exciting new competition.

Herbert Smith Freehills in association with National Trust, Young at Art and Arts & Business Northern Ireland, are thrilled to announce that the Towering Tales Creative Writing Competition 2015 is open for entries. 

Big Thank you to Business in the Community

The Fighting Words Belfast team would like to say a massive thank-you to all the Business in the Community members who kindly contributed to the project at the awards ceremony in the Waterfront Hall last Thursday.

The generous donations raised during the raffle of six handwritten framed artworks containing 'first words' pieces by Northern Irish writers and a set of nine signed novels by NI author David Park totalled £4,288.

Launch of Fighting Words Belfast

Well-known names from the Irish literary world including Roddy Doyle and Glenn Patterson launch Fighting Words Belfast project at the Seamus Heaney Centre this afternoon.

This afternoon (Tuesday 10th March, 3pm) will see the launch of Fighting Words Belfast, the city's exciting new creative writing project for children and young people. Writers Glenn Patterson and Roddy Doyle , two of the project's patrons, will be joined by guests at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry at Queen's University Belfast to celebrate the launch.
