One morning, far, far away, Rick was out for a wee jog deep in the foggy woods. As he was running, he tripped on a branch and rolled his ankle.

“Aou!” said Rick crossly. He staggered back onto his feet and rubbed his ankle.

Barbara was out fishing and heard his shout. She left her fishing equipment and ran towards the noise.

“Are you ok?” Barbara chuckled.

“Why are you laughing?” asked Rick, “I’m obviously in pain.” Rick was annoyed. His wife had died only the week before and he was still mourning.

Barbara helped Rick up and took him back to her castle.

The castle had been recently refurbished with WIFI and a pioneering surround sound system.

Barbara switched the lights on in the medical room. The King was already in the room. He was lying in bed, very sick.

“Where the hell am I? I’ve never seen this place before!” Rick exclaimed.

“A castle,” said Barbara sarcastically. “What do you think it is?”

“What do you do for a living?” asked Rick.

“I’m a free-lance jester,” said Barbara. “But I only get work in the summer”

It was cold, so cold that snow was blowing down the chimney and putting out the fire. The wind whistled and slammed the window open. The King sat up in a fright and gathered himself together.

“By golly,” mumbled the king. “Who is this peasant?” he said, looking at Rick.

Rick opened his wallet and pulled out his ID. He handled it gently to the King. The King laughed and shook his head. “You haven’t changed a bit.”
