“I hate Fern!”, shouted Fred.
Fred and Fern used to be friends, before Fern turned against Fred. Fred had painted a story just one year ago and Fern was upset about it. Fern had accused Fred of being a fraud who had lied about his paintings predicting the future.
“You’re a fraud” exclaimed Fern.
Then Fern went home and drew a completely different picture to that which Fred had drawn.
So, Fred then accused Fern of changing the future on purpose to make him look bad and ruin his image. Fred had predicted that the tree in their orchard would grow taller, but Fern got really mad and changed the picture to show that the tree would die. Fern had received a prophecy when he was a child saying that if the tree grew tall, then he would die. The tree was in an orchard, on an island in the centre of Belfast lough for protection. Both Fern and Fred got their powers from the tree, so if the tree died, then both of them would be powerless and die.
Suddenly, the tree was dead. The massive fish had eaten it.
Did the tree die because they went against each other's drawings..?
