It was Christmas Eve and the weather wasn’t overly great, it was quite windy and the rain was beating against the windows. At eight o’clock it was time for bed. Olivia and Charlie went to bed excited for Christmas, they were hoping that Santa would leave lots of presents for them in the morning.
The next morning Olivia and Charlie jumped out of bed and ran excitedly downstairs, but there were no presents, it could have been that they were very, very naughty or it could have been that someone stole their Christmas gifts.
That was exactly what happened and I knew who it was!
A beast lived up on the torr of Slieve Binnian mountain. It was 13 miles up in the sky and always cold and windy. His name was the Ice King. He had fur all over him, he was very tall and his eyesight was very good, he could see for miles. The one time of the year he hated was Christmas, he hated everything about it. His plan was to steal Christmas and make everybody as miserable as him. The reason he hated Christmas was because for five years he never got any presents under his dead Christmas tree, he didn’t have a family, no mum or dad or brothers or sisters, he was all alone with just his puppy Angus, and this Christmas he wanted to get his sweet revenge.
As Santa left toys for the children, the Ice King quietly tiptoed after him and quickly stole the presents. He hid behind Christmas trees and sofas so he couldn’t be seen. Angus was outside keeping guard of the truck as Ice King dropped the stolen presents into the back of his truck. He drove his truck into a dark cave high up on the mountains.
As morning dawned the Ice King watched from the top of his mountain as the children woke to find that Christmas had been stolen. He saw them crying and so unhappy that it brought back all those feelings from the past when he was just a little boy. He knew then that he had done the wrong thing. He realised that everything he had done was wrong. He went down to the children and said he was very sorry for ruining their Christmas. He went back up to his cave and hid under the blankets.
After a while Olivia and Charlie came up to his cave and knocked on his door. The Ice King was wondering why they had come all the way up the mountain and they said they wanted to invite the Ice King to Christmas dinner with their family.
The Ice King couldn’t understand why they wanted to be with him after he stole Christmas. Olivia said, “You’ve been alone long enough.” So the Ice King went down to the village with Olivia and Charlie and went in to their house and celebrated Christmas with Olivia, Charlie and their family.
