THE UNDERGROUND TERROR

It was a late winter’s night in Bangor, Maine. Patricia was walking to Tesc-o when she bumped into a young lady.

“Oh, sorry,” Patricia stuttered awkwardly. Ever since her accident, Patricia felt nervous around people.

“Oh, no, it’s OK,” replied Gertrude, putting on a brave face. Her two-and-a-half-year relationship had just ended a few hours earlier.

Gertrude could see that Patricia was clumsy, so she offered to help her to the subway. Patricia anxiously accepted.

They took the lift down to the platform. When they got out, they saw a dark figure standing in the corner. The figure was holding a little girl’s hand.

As they walked out the lift, they looked around.

“This doesn’t look right, said Gertrude worriedly.

Patricia shuffled closer to Gertrude. She struggled to raise a shaking hand and pointed at the sign above the figure.
