Once upon a time there was a man called Jack. Jack wished he could do gymnastics and be a movie star.
One night at midnight, Jack went to the woods. He took a spade and dug a hole. At the bottom of the hole he found a lamp. The lamp was shiny, cold and mucky.
Jack used his sleeve to wipe the muck off and a genie came out. The genie was called Max. Max was very big and he had red eyes with claws on his hands. He looked scary but he was harmless.
‘AAAGGGHHH!’ shouted Jack.
‘Hello,’ said Max. ‘I look scary but actually I’m not.’
‘You look scary to me,’ replied Jack. ‘Do you grant wishes?’
‘Yes’, said Max, ‘I can grant eight wishes a day. I’ve been stuck in the lamp for a century. What would you like to wish for?’
‘Please can I have a puppy?’ asked Jack. The genie granted his wish.
‘What’s next?’ he asked politely.
‘I would like to do gymnastics and be a movie star,’ said Jack…
