There was once a pumpkin man called Jeff. He lived in a giant pumpkin on a pumpkin farm in Belfast where it always rains.
He was afraid of going out in the rain, in case his candle went out. He only went out when it was sunny.
One morning it was a blazing, sunny day. Jeff thought it wasn’t going to rain that day so he went out to the river.
He heard weird noises, and he went to see where they were coming from.
He found a tiny, green thing in a bush. It was a tortoise!
“Hi! My name is Jeff,” said Jeff, picking up the tortoise.
“Put me down!” the tortoise said in a rage. Jeff set the tortoise down.
“I’m sorry. What’s your name?” he said.
“My name is Tort-Tuse,” said the tortoise. “Why are you half-human, half-pumpkin?”
“I was cursed,” said Jeff…
