Chapter One: The Golden Treasure
Once upon a time, King Gregor the Third of Scotland owned a coin. The coin was so precious that he kept it padlocked in a box in his pocket. He had white hair, a scruffy beard and his favourite breakfast was wheaten bread and three plump pork sausages. One afternoon he was on his horse Jerry, riding back to his castle from a town he had just raided.
Captain Patch was looking for a good apple tree so he could get something to eat. He was walking from the beach towards the castle and had to pass through a moist, damp forest. The forest had been enchanted by a goblin called Coorahcoonza who could move the trees about at will.
Captain Patch, a short, plump man, had just reached the outskirts of the forest when he saw a tall, skinny man on a horse riding by. I wonder what he has in his pockets? Probably something precious, he thought to himself.
From his horse, King Gregor saw who he thought was a poor peasant lurking behind the trees. “Oi! Who are you?” shouted King Gregor, “You better not be thinking about stealing my precious gold coin out of its padlocked box in my pocket!”
Meanwhile, while they were having their conversation, the ambitious and cunning sailor, Lady Olivia Grace, was sailing towards them, intent on snatching the coin…
