Hedwig was on a small boat and found himself getting washed up on a beach. As Hedwig walked along the beach, he stepped on a tiny turtle under the sand. Hedwig’s sandy spikes quivered in fear.

‘Can’t you see I’m walking here’ shouted the turtle.

‘Sorry I stood on you, my name is Hedwig, what’s yours?’

‘My name is Timmy’ explained Timmy.

‘Where do you live?’ questioned Hedwig.

‘I live further along the beach beside the palm trees’.

Later on the waves got stronger and heavier as there was a storm. Timmy brought Hedwig back to his house beside the palm trees because there was a storm. The storm wreaked palm trees nearby.

The house was small, crooked and colourful. ‘This is my holiday house, my real house is under the sea’ said Timmy.

Hedwig saw a book about a flying salmon named Sally and that encouraged him to fly too. Hedwig saw the book on Timmy’s bookshelf in his holiday house. Hedwig asked Timmy about the book, ‘can I borrow the book?’

‘Why do you need my book?’ sneered Timmy.

‘I want to fly, but I am afraid of heights’ explained Hedwig.

‘There are some mountains nearby, I can bring you up those if that would help?’

‘Are the mountains far?’

‘Only two miles away’.

‘There is a shortcut through the sea, can you swim?’ asked Timmy…
