Chapter One
Tom woke up in the middle of the night. He could feel his heart pounding. He heard the sound of enemy planes flying over his house! He heard people shouting outside.
Tom heard people shouting, ‘HELP US!’
Luckily Tom lived in a little cottage outside Ballymena. When he looked outside the window, he could see tonnes of smoke and fire.
He heard a dog barking in the street. He quietly went down the stairs, grabbing a model car. He put it in his pocket and looked out the kitchen window.
All of sudden, he stumbled back in a shocking mannerism. He saw his adoptive mother and father being captured by the German soldiers…
