It was a rainy Friday morning when Tyler left Sam the dog off with Amy, who lived in an apartment block with her 15 kids ranging in age from 25 to 6. The apartment had red bricks with six windows with pink window frames. The drainpipes and gutters were shaped like jelly beans. The apartment was filled with noise and hectic. There was a spa on the roof. There was a red letterbox stuffed with mail and love letters. The older ones were fighting with the younger ones.
One of the youngest ones said: “Can you come play with us” jumping up and down and just annoying them, the older boy warned him not to say that which upset the younger one. Tyler was feeling happy and excited because he was going on holidays, he was tired because he had to travel all day. He was happy to get time off rugby training and time off looking after Sam the Dog.
Amy yelled “Get that dog out of the house.”
Tyler replied “No, I’m not getting the dog out. You said you would look after my dog.” Tyler pleaded with her as he has barely had any time by himself. “You have to keep the dog in the house” Tyler said.
The kids were jumping about the apartment, it was messy and untidy. The apartment walls were white and cream but stained and dirty with drawings on the walls.
Tyler put a raincoat on Sam the Dog and sent him to Amy in the post. Tyler left to go to Orlando as he was hurrying to get to his flight as he might have been late.
Ten days later after his holidays he arrived back at the apartment, he found some of the older kids playing.
Tyler knocked at the door excitedly Tyler joked: “Hello, How can I help You?”
Amy was nervous and annoyed, muttering, “How was your holiday.” “I enjoyed it, a lot of tours around the town,” Tyler replied in a happy tone but he knew something a bit strange.
“Did you do anything exciting” asked Amy with a shocked look on her face.
“Oh yeah went to a few bars” said Tyler. “Did you see any locations?” asked Amy.
Tyler replied, “Oh yeah saw a bunch.”
“I’m here for my pet, my dog, Sam,” reminded Tyler.
“Oh your dog. I forgot to look after it” Amy replied in a mocking tone.
Tyler was shocked “Oh god why didn’t you look after my dog.”
Amy said: “Oh you know, I was busy with stuff.”
“Busy with what? Just yabbing?” said Tyler.
“I let it leave through the gate” said Amy with a scared voice.
“Why would you let it leave through the gate” asked Tyler.
“I was just opening the gate and it ran out” answered Amy.
Suddenly she heard a noise in the kitchen…
