The Pencil Portal is pop-up writer's studio at Banana Block at Portview Trading Centre and an exhibition of recent stories written by Belfast children, with banana-themed stories and illustrations created over the years at Fighting Words NI. The exhibition will feature stories and artist illustrations by Lagan Village Youth Group, Short Strand After school club, Aspire Homework Club, Youth Initiatives East Belfast and Cedar Foundation as well as stories by several Belfast schools.
The launch of our exhibition is part of this year’s Belfast Children's Festival.
For this Sunday afternoon session there is no scheduled creative writing event (as there is on Saturday), however we would like volunteers to meet and greet visitors to The Pencil Portal––to talk about the exhibition and what we do at Fighting Words.
