WRITING THEATRE FOR ALTERNATIVE SPACES
October 2021-January 2022
ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE? Maybe, Shakespeare... This in-depth workshop series will test out that famous quote – & put some new words into the world too.
WRITING THEATRE FOR ALTERNATIVE SPACES will give 8 young people in NI (ages 14-18) the chance to write their own short play for a new performance in a secret location - working with professional directors, actors & sound designers to bring it to life. Writers of any experience level are welcome.
The free, in-depth workshop series is open to young writers from Northern Ireland who want to learn from professionals about scriptwriting and creating new performances for non-theatre buildings. We’ll work from the foundations up (puns absolutely never intended) – so you’re welcome whether you’re trying scriptwriting for the first time or love playwriting already and want to dive deeper.
“It was spellbinding to see my words come alive.”
