Story Seeds Celebration Event at Connswatter

Thank you to everyone who came to our Story Seeds Celebration event yesterday at the Fighting Words NI creative writing hub at Connswater Shopping Centre in Belfast.

It was amazing to see the Primary School Zine and Gothic Zine printed as well as an animated film featuring illustrations and photos of the workshops and so many of the young authors reading the stories. This was the culmination of the amazing effort and creativity of all the participants we worked with from across six counties.

The event gave us the opportunity to show our appreciation for the hard work and valued contributions of the directors and project co-ordinators of both Fighting Words and Fighting Words NI who nurtured Story Seeds from beginning to end, the facilitators and volunteers who provided the participants with the best possible experience, the funders who made the project possible, and everyone else who ensured Story Seeds grew into the roaring success that it has been.

Our guests even got to see some of that creativity in action in the form of a mini-workshop with the visiting classes from St Tiarnach's Primary School from Clones and St Joseph's Convent Primary School from Newry. They worked together to write the final chapter of the story they had each contributed to for the Zine.

We’ll be sharing more created content and behind-the-scenes titbits from the project, over the next month, including the zines themselves, so stay tuned to our social media to make sure you don’t miss out!

The Story Seeds Cross Border Project is generously supported by Creative Ireland.
