After four years at Fighting Words Belfast helping to generate more than 6,000 opportunities for children and young people to create wonderful stories, Geraldine has decided to begin a new story of her own and will be leaving Fighting Words Belfast at the end of October.
Geraldine has been an invaluable force in developing and expanding Northern Ireland's creative writing centre for young people aged 6-18. Working tirelessly to secure funding, bringing vision and creativity to building relationships with schools, organisations, volunteers, and overseeing the development and delivery of many great creative writing projects, we are going to miss Geraldine greatly. She's a good one for an entertaining story or two at lunchtime aswell. However, she's definitely not saying goodbye to the company and we look forward to welcoming her to workshops and events in the future. We wish her every happiness and success!
"As Geraldine’s time with us draws to a close, on behalf of the Board of Trustees I would like to sincerely thank Geraldine for her dedication and service to Fighting Words Belfast over the last four years.
From the outset Geraldine’s vision was to create a positive learning experience for every child that Fighting Words Belfast engaged with.
You only have to read the words of those children, and the testimonies of their teachers, to see that Geraldine’s vision has become a magical space where children have learnt to trust their own imagination.
We will certainly miss working with Geraldine, but look forward to staying in touch with her as she begins a new chapter in her own story.
Good luck and best wishes."
