Three is the magic number!
Over the weekend we brought together three groups from Fighting Words NI in Belfast, Fighting Words in Dublin, and Graffiti Theatre Company in Cork for a cross-border, cross-community writing quest!
These groups from Youth Advocate Programme Ireland (Dublin), Activate Space (Cork) & Transitions SENSE NI (Belfast) are the first collaborative triangle of our Creative Connections Project. After being welcomed into the space by our wonderful facilitators Calvin Magee, Fiona Lawton, Donna O'Keeney and Emily De Dakis, the groups created a sensory presentation of their home place to inspire stories and shared experiences.
The group read a haunting folklore story and created their own endings which they then shared with the group. Our groups shared that the day was "inspiring," "energetic" and that they are "looking forward to the next time!" The next session will take place on March 15th, so watch this space for more updates on this fantastic collaboration.
The Creative Connections Project is generously supported by Creative Ireland , under the Creative Youth Plan 2023-2027.
Fighting Words NI is also supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs (Irish Foreign Ministry) through the Reconciliation Fund.
